It means "dew"

It's spelt นิศาชล, normal Thai น้ำค้าง.

thanks very much, that's the same as written on the birth certificate.

there's also 2 other characters before นิศาชล i presume they are a pronounsiation or something ?

I am taking a guess here because I cant recall seeing a Thai birth certificate, however it may be the abbreviation mentioned above is the sex of the child.
