Morning all,

As many know, Cheap Charlies is one of those bars that actually has a fair number of farang women patrons (which is a Good Thing). But when i was there on Friday with a thai colleague they pointed out that there are signs at the bar not allowing Thai women to sit in the bar whether alone or in groups- Thai women are only allowed in if accompanied by a farang male or female.

I think this is abit outrageous as i imagine there are plenty of educated or not thai women, who just want to interact with farangs who cant get in....

On the other hand, is one of the reasons why Cheap Charlies is popular with farang women is because they (farang women) can chat with farang men without having the men being distracted by Thai women???

So is discrimination bad in this case? Or should we give Mr Charlie a break?

Maybe the place does not want to be seen as a "den of inequity" as the less than stellar reputation of some of the local females seem to indicate that if there are places where single foreign men gather... "working women" will appear trying to earn some baht.

My what a load of assumptions you make about a business expatj, given the area and the number of working girls that inhabit the area don't you think it more likely that rather than cater to the few farang women there its more likely they don't want pros working the bar instead?

And did it ever occur to you that perhaps the farang women are drinking there for the same reasons the men are?

I do get so tired of this kind of antagonistic BS being posted in the Ladies forum and frankly, thought more than twice about just deleting and giving you a warn for it instead.

However, I chose to answer your question and now, in light of your bad attitude and my unwillingness to tolerate this kind of thing in the ladies forum
