Sms Spam

I receive for about two months SMS Spam on my TRUE number. This number is not really known to anyone as I use it only for True Move, i.e. GPRS.

The other day I had the bright idea to call TRUE and ask them to stop this SMS spam and also asked them where those spammers got my number from. They said there is nothing they can do about it if others use their network and suggested to call Samart instead. The lady at the call center gave me a number.

I called this number from my DTAC phone and some high-pitched voice was babbling along in high-speed Thai, all I understood was "press 3 for TRUE Move". I did and next thing that happened I receive a Spam SMS on my DTAC number. I receive now about 3 Spam SMS on my DTAC number.

It is not possible to call that SPAM back, it just says "B2M" as sender.

Any suggestions how to find out who is behind this? I am in the mood to pay them a personal visit.

Try calling DTAC now your DTAC number gets the spam too. DTAC have always been very good to me against spam, if it's their own they stop it immediately, if it's 3rd party spam they go all the way contacting the spammer getting them to stop.

DTAC is generally good filtering out spam messages. They will ask from which sender you got the message, what time you received the message and the contents of the message. If the message is in Thai, and you are unable to read it, they sometimes even offer to receive the message on their personal mobiles if you forward it. Then they track down and remove your number from every spam list they can find (which in my experience is all of them).

AIS is also generally good stopping spam, but it takes a little more effort to get them to move, and even then they state it takes up to 7 days to get is resolved. I had to call AIS twice to have all spam removed.

True Move... I have a number that I haven't even used. I only gave this number to the customer service rep so I cold gain Trues promotion package for an unrelated service. I receive spam on this number (3-4 per day) I haven't tried to stop it as on the previous number I had it was useless to try and ask them to stop. They were unwilling or unable to help.

Rule of thumb. If you receive automated voice calls, hang up. If you answer and hang up quickly the calls eventually stop.

Called DTAC and indeed, they are REALLY good at it! They sew a "subscription" in their system and just switched it off.

Then I called TRUE again, assuming that they could do something similar and we....they forwarded my request to some specialists, who called me back. Actually, those "specialists" spoke at least very well English so they understood the problem and wanted to look into it. Then gain a call back, they asked me for the exact time of the messages for tracing them back. Will report back later if it did the trick..fingers crossed!
