<BR>I'm finally getting round to learning to read, but need some help./<BR><BR>Can anyone recommend a good teacher or language school for learning to read Thai in Bangkok?<BR> <BR>Any tips would be appreciated. Also, if anyone could point me in the direction of any useful online software that would be great. <BR><BR>Thanks very much,<BR><BR>GFL.

UTL is very good, but studying there is a major commitment. Four hours a day (mornings) or three hours a day (afternoons) five days a week, plus homework which usually takes a couple of hours. (Very few of the students are farang - most are Korean and Japanese, with a few Chinese. That really pushes you into using your Thai to communicate with them during the breaks.)

Each module is 20 days' study, and reading and writing is introduced in module 3. By module 5 you're writing short essays every evening.

I believe the curriculum is virtually the same at Union, but with added missionaries.
