tomparis
hi all, has anyone managed to find a useful guide to where to live in Bangkok?? My wife and I have just moved here (currently waiting for the stamps in the passport) and are looking around. The issue we have is that roads/sois change in style very quickly between noisey/quiet respectable/other, etc so even looking in certain areas is not simple. NOTE: have found useful: http://www.ssbkk.com/en/stationinfo/15 ==> good descriptions of sois in many areas http://www.kkbkk.com/apartments-condos-rent-bangkok.htm ==> good overview of general areas http://www.soidb.com/en/bangkok/landmark/building/baan_sirirudee.html ==> details on buildings & area facilities But having a really comprehensive guide would be great ! Thanks (hopefully).
astral
Moved for better exposure, come back to the Accommodation finding when you have decided on a location. Are you working, if so what area? That may help people recommend good areas close by. Edited August 12, 2010 by astral
Hawkup2000
I don't have a guide but perhaps we could point you in the right direction if you could tell us some more details and requirements. - What's your budget? - Do you work? You may want to live close by your office. - What are your requirements? Do you need a pool, 4 bedrooms etc? oldmajor
I look at the traffic flow in relation to where you work. Get that right andyou are half way there. Always live on the right side of the traffic or close to the expressway on ramp.

CWMcMurray
There are many nice places, but your idea of nioce will surely depend how closely uoir condo matches your specific needs... but as others have pointed out... in order to give good advise, a bit more infirmation about your specific family situation and needs would be needed.
