Hi,

My wife and I have been married for nearly 2 years, though because we are far from Bangkok and never go there, we do not have the marriage certificate. I am lead to believe we must go to Bangkok to obtain the marriage certificate.

We now have a 11 month old baby girl.

The three of us plan to go to UK next year in March for a 2 month holiday.

We are unsure what to do and how to get a tourist visa at the best price.

I would be most grateful for guidance on the best way forward. i.e. Should we get our marriage cert first before getting the toursit visa?

Kind regards,

J.

You don't need to be married to apply for a tourist visa so you don't have to get a cert.

You also don't need to go to Bangkok to get a cert.

As there is often confusion with this I will ask. Did you get married with a village ceremony only ? or did you register your marriage with the local district office ? If you registered with the local district office you should have got a pair of certificates then.

As you have until March next year I would suggest that you research making the application yourself rather than using an agency. It's a lot cheaper that way, a fair amount of work is involved but all the information and plenty of help is available from articles in this forum.

You dont state if you are British or not ? assuming you are, apply for a family visa for your wife and that will be much easier to obtain.
