August 13, 201015 yr I am currently attending CMU on Saturday and Sunday and going to school 7 days per week would be a little much for me. I would like to enroll in a certified TEFL program but everything I have found is an intensive 30 day program. Does anyone know if there are there any courses out there a little less strenuous? Maybe 60 or 90 days? Thanks in advance!! : ) Edited August 13, 201015 yr by 56sav
August 13, 201015 yr CMU offers a online TEFL course that is done at your own pace. If I remember correctly the only deadline is you must start and pass all requirements within 6 months.
August 13, 201015 yr Does anyone know if the online course carries less weight or any issues surrounding doing the course online versus at the University?

The website says the full 120 hour course is the most recognized TEFL in Asia and states nothing about the online course?

Any teachers have any experience if the online course is enough to get a teaching job in Thailand?

August 13, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the reply...I didn't realize it was self paced online. Did you or anyone you know enroll in the online program? To the poster above I can check on Monday when I got to the admin office, if you want.

You could do the CELTA part time, which is the most recognised, although some of the classes are on a Saturday morning. *link to a commercial site edited out/Scott* Don't do anything online, it will be laughed at. The only recognised courses are those with at least 120 hours classroom theory & 6 hours observed teaching practice. Edited February 17, 201115 yr by Scott Link edited out/Scott

February 17, 201115 yr Rather strange way to go about things. OK if you google 'International House Bangkok' you should find information on the CELTA.
February 18, 201115 yr Rather strange way to go about things. It's about the money, as are the courses themselves. Edited February 18, 201115 yr by BruceMangosteen
