Are Thai Children Completely Covered By Health Insurance

Recommended Posts

My girlfriend has two children aged 1 and 3 1/2. She has the basic health card that costs 30 bhat for health insurance. After talking with her and getting her to call the government office

we found out that if the children are hit by a motorbike that does not have insurance then we have to pay for the medical costs. It was also not clear if they cover for broken bones from other accidents etc.

I was wondering if any members out there have spouses or girlfriends who have children and if so what type of medical insurance do they have.

Thanks in advance.

My daughter (7) has full medical cover and accident insurance. Off the top of my head about 10k baht for the medical and 7k for the accident insurance through AIA

Mitch,

I was under the impression that all medical emergencies and conditions were covered. My wife's 2 (grown up) children are in the 30 baht scheme, but have never had to use it.

Regarding Insurance for your child - this link may be of interest LMG Pacific

B750,000 cover for B3,600 for a 3 year old.
