Need Advice Fast! Non Imm B

Recommended Posts

Hi, i have a non imm B visa from Laos, and it is red stamped 'get work permit'. This expires in a few days so i am going back to Laos to renew this visa. Basically there was a delay in getting a letter from my school, which immigration requested before they would issue a W.P. So now in order to avoid over stay and because i need the visa for my W.P. application i am off to Laos on sunday!! Does anyone know if i am wasting my time? Will they give me a new non imm b visa?? Or will they tell me to get a tourist visa (in that case i might as well go to cambodia). If they refuse how do i get a new non imm B so i can put in my W.P. application. I reside here so not going back to the U.K.!!! Any advice appreciated. Thanks

1. The Labor Department issues work permits, not Immigration.

2. You can apply for a work permit from a Labor Department office with a tourist visa.

3. Once you have a receipt (WP3) for the work permit application you can get a Non "B" visa from a Thai embassy or consulate.

4. Vientiane, Laos should issue a Non "B" visa if you have the proper documents.

Seems that you have to choice, you must try to get a another non-b.

I would go back to lao. If you go somewhere else they may think you had a problem there and refuse based on an assumption.

I got a non b from Cambodia back in Jan. the lady in the middle window was not friendly and told me not come back and that i must extend the visa at immigration.

I think as long as you have the receipt (WP3) that it is still processing you should get it. I would advise that you get a letter from your school explaining your situation.

However if you have not tried.... I would first go to immigration as they may give you 30 days processing extension on you non b.

This is what they do to me in pattaya every year, but this is while waiting for the one year extension paperwork approval coming back from bangkok.
