Friends and I are going camping in Kanganaburi tomorrow until Sunday.

So what to do at night there? Any decent pubs or nightlife around?

We plan to drink and have a camp fire at night, but if it starts raining the pubs will be the next option.

The camping areas in the Province of Kanchanaburi, and the city of Kanchanaburi are a long way apart. There IS some pub life but it is MUCH quieter than the main tourist centers such as Pattaya, Phuket, Bangkok or Chiang Mai. There are two, visibly different areas in town: the strip along the river from the famous bridge back towards town, and the main part of the city nearer the bus station. There are only a few places with working girls and even in high season it's much quieter. But, like anywhere in Thailand, there is always something available if you search for it. Kanchanaburi is NOT "in your face" like Nana plaza, Soi Cowboy, Pattaya or Patong beach.
