LaoPo
Sarawak Chieftain's US$1 Mansion The Sarawak Report, (http://sarawakreport.org/) an NGO based in the east Malaysian state, has uncovered exhaustive evidence that the chief minister, Abdul Taib Mahmud, has looted Sarawak of hundreds of millions of US dollars and hidden the wealth in Canada, the UK, Australia and the United States. It now has found indications that Taib may have received a US$7 million home from a timber company which depended on Taib for a license to harvest timber. Asia Sentinel is pleased to print the latest of the Sarawak Report's examinations of the Taib family's wealth. craigt3365
Very sad state of affairs there. I met a guide from one of the local tribes in Sarawak. Kind of a Greenpeace activist. He has been fighting illegal logging for years...and has had several death threats and attempts on his life. I guess with that much money involved, you can understand. buddy
This scumbag has been controlling the "logging rights" in Sarawak for 30 years?? Just imagine how much damage this corruption has inflicted on the virgin rainforests of Sarawak. A Chinese answer is needed for this corruption along with the rest of his Malaysian cronies. No doubt nothing will be done.

Cutting down ancient rainforests = Profit no 1. Planting Oil palm plantations on the ex-rainforest land = Profit no 2. Its like being raped twice! 30 years is a long long time for this guy to get away with this, has nobody any balls in Sarawak except threatened Greenpeace Falangs or have any threats to the loggers plans been effectively dealt with?
