Public Notary In Thailand

Featured Replies

ThaiLawOnline updated their website and has an interesting article on public notary in Thailand.

Apparently Thailand has public notaries, but they are public notaries because they have a special license from the Thai Council of Lawyer. Currently there is no law regulating Public Notary in Thailand only a ruling from the Thai Council of Lawyers, meaning that in a foreign court a document from a Thai Public Notary might be contested. Keep that in mind when you need a Public Notary in Thailand.

I needed to have some documents notarized for my signature a few months ago here in Thailand. I had to return the notarized documents to the US.

I found the only way to get them notarized was to go to the US embassy. There was no way to get them notarized by a Thai lawyer.
