Thailand'S Blinged Out Tourist Buses

Featured Replies

I thought you might find this article interesting. During major holidays in my wife's village, these buses arrive full of folks from Bangkok...all having a blast...and blasting music. Fun stuff....

Well, here is where they come from!

bump

since no one commented, found this thread when searching for the 'old people moaning about music on Thai buses' thread. (Yes there is one)

I've traveled on one of these, bloody good fun, laser lights, pumping sound system, drinks, only complaint was the one we were on wasn't fitted with a toilet - but made regular stops at gas stations.

I would have loved this when i was 16 but at 20 thought they were crap ,just about what i think now.

ive often wondered about these buses

thanks for the link ... thats interesting ... heres some more seen in chiang mai .

And of course the driver/s are in a separate booth fully insulated from all the distractions of the "thumpin" music and light /film show so they can full concentrate on the road ahead.behind etc theres no way Id set foot in one of those death traps that i often see upturned in a ditch.:bah:

They are a blast for sure. The Thai's know how to party. If you are in the bus with your wife's village and relatives, heading to another village for a wedding...it just too much fun...but for sure don't think I would want to do an overnighter from BKK up to Issan....

travelman.

My mistake ,I clicked the wrong text and before I could edit it it had been read or answered by someone else and then I couldnt edit it.

At least I now know where these bloody busses, which are the scourge of our neighbourhood at weekends, hail from. I can hear their irritating thump-thump-thump music clearly in our house, even though we live a good kilometre as the crow flies from the main road down which they pass. It would appear from some of the previous posters on this thread that the Holy Grail of Having Fun must reign supreme at all times, and French Connections UK to you if these busses result in sleepless nights for you when parked up at a nearby hotel (as they have for me).

Now all I need to do is to establish the co-ordinates for Bang Len so that my spare missile with the 100-megaton nuclear warhead is pointed in the right direction.....

We are not far from Sukhumvit in NaJomtien. It's not only the buses, but also the pickup trucks with exposed speakers blasting it out. I've seen these trucks with like 20 speakers. Irritating for sure.

from the look of the busses under construction the only thing holding them together is the paint.
