What Plant Seeds Can I Bring To Los From Uk ?

Featured Replies

i want some nice plants around my house, me and the wife went to a lot of garden centres in los and nice coloured flowers or plants are very expensive, we want a good spread of coloured flowering plants to put into large tubs and put around the house and garden. what plants/flowers could we use from uk considering the heat and humidity compared to uk.

thanks

Probably none without jumping through some hoops. Check the regulations regarding plant, seeds, vegetable and fruit importation. You will need to apply for an import licence.

Plants you should by at Tarad Thai in Rangsit, better prices (can haggle) and a huge selection, Tarad Thai is on pahonyothin in rangsit just past the tammasat campus outbound on the right side.

The plant section is from the main entrance of tarad thai all the way at the end, passed the traffic lights going straight another 100m on the left.

Alternatively on the way from the outer ring road to Nakon Nayok (Road no 305) you will find a lot of road side shops selling plants cheaply.

A nice selection of flower seeds are sold by http://www.trgreen.co.th/ (use translate.google.com if you cannot read thai) under the brand "Green Garden" they are located in Chonburi city.

Their products can somtimes also be found in lotus/bigc

Yes brought loads of packet seeds from Canada...not declared so no idea if legal. Also brought in bulbs ..daffodils/tulips etc

BUT ...not a one grew to flower...think the bugs here like foreign fare..maybe if started in pots with good "clean" soil may have had more success...

There are so many delightful flowers and shrubs in Thailand and starting plants from "borrowed" cuttings is so easy...so given up on temperate climate plants..orchids,hibiscus,heliconia, morning glory, bougainvillia and palms etc for me..

...there are lots of tropical versions of temperate flowers like Cosmos,Forget me Nots ,Daisies etc :D
