I think I've heard of a place at the Erawan Bangkok that does that, if I'm not mistaken.

Right. It's called HydroHealth Center, on the 4th Fl. of Erawan Bangkok (Room 401). And it's B3,000 for 45 minutes of colon flush. They will flush your colon with 30 - 50L of "99.9% pure water", according to the ad on free paper (Japanese) I have. From the pictures it looks as clean and gorgeous as 5 stars hotel spa, doesn't at all look like a clinic. Heard the tube is transparent so you can see what comes out of your rectum. :o

I've been thinking of sending my wife there as she's been suffering from bad constipation.

Here's the Tel. # 0-2250-7800

This hospital provides 'colonic irrigation' . A not unpleasant way to spend an hour.

(No shit Sherlock!)

Yanhee Hospital

454 Charansanitwong Rd. , Bang-O, Bangplad, Bangkok, Thailand, 10700

Tel:(66) 0-2879-0300

They speak English and have some of the most beautiful nurses in Thailand. However if you are male, you will be attended to by a suitably serious Thai male nurse. It's not at all embarrassing.

The cost is (was) around Bt 1000 for a full flushout. Ask for their 'pomoshun' :D

Anything more than that ,such as at HydroHealth Center, on the 4th Fl. of Erawan Bangkok (Room 401), and they are "Taking the piss" too.!

Takes about an hour on your back reading a magazine. It's a 'feelgood' experience . Not sure what ultimate benefits are achieved.

Good luck and 'Up yours'. :o

What the h3ll is a colon flush supposed to do for you anyway? :D

If you want a good cleanout, eat a large portion of pud-puk-boong-fie-daeng... that stuff (whilst being very tasty) is totally indigestible and will wrap itself around anything you've got inside, and drag it out the other end... :D

Fark paying for a 45 minute flush... :D

And you don't have to look at it either... :D

Benefits of Colon Hydrotherapy

(Colonic Irrigation)

The purpose of colon hydrotherapy, or colonic irrigation as it is sometimes known, is to clean, tone and re-educate the bowel, or colon. It also helps the body to detoxify by removing acidic/toxic waste from the body, freeing up the elimination pathways - rather like taking the plug out of the bath!

Colonics help to clean out old stagnant matter from the bowel, and can help to empty pockets of encrusted matter. They also empty the colon of current matter, which can be of great relief to constipation sufferers.

A colonic irrigation treatment is like taking your colon to the gym! It exercises the muscles of the bowel, helping it to tone and reshape. The varied water temperature used during a treatment can also help to tone the colon.

Colonics are an invaluable aid to detoxification, preventing the reabsorption of toxins, and hastening their removal from the system. The swift removal of toxins improves metabolism, reduces weight and rejuvenates the whole of the system. Colonic irrigation speeds the release of irritating substances, mucous, gas and toxic bacteria from the body. A person feels lighter, and looks brighter!

The overall detoxing effect is excellent for helping the skin, and will the feeling of well-being and increased energy after a treatment is widely recognised. This is why they are sometimes referred to as the best beauty treatment available.

I heard a flush greatly helps to reduce a beer gut?

Obviously this would not be a good solution for haemeroids. My grandmother used to suffer from them and she was in gret pain.

As far as I understand it just having the one flush is not actually going to do much. Some of my ex colleagues used to go to soem health farm on Samui and fast for 2 weeks whilst having 3 flushes a day. Apparently some of the stuff coming out at the end of the two weeks resembled something from the film Aliens... Apparently they don't just use water either - sometimes water with garlic or with coffee etc. I've never done it myself though.

Gosh, evidently an enema - er, "high colonic" - is the best thing since sliced bread. Perhaps not...here's some downside. An inexperienced clinician can puncture the intestine. Ouch! The flush will upset the bacteria and enzyeme balance, and remove the mucosa - which protects the colon from irritation and infection. Following the flush, you'll probably experience MORE gas and intestinal distress than before. Of course you'll remove fecal material - that's what's in a colon and, removing it will prevent the proper absorption of the nutrients. The colon is a muscular organ, and the contractions move the partially digested food through the colon, and then eliminate it. With continual flushing, the colon will become paralyzed, and you'll be unable to have a normal elimination. Not exactly what the doctor ordered. Having a flush makes as much sense as forcing yourself to vomit after a meal. Hey, you're getting rid of all that nasty undigested food, and irritating stomach acid. Of course, the irritation of the throat and destruction of your tooth enamel are small prices to pay..

I ate a contaminated chicken sandwich @ KFC, and it was quite effective.

Let's see...between $25 and $75US for an enema.  Sounds like someone is getting screwed in the a$$.

Why knock it, if you haven't tried it?

It's my understanding that having your penis squeezed in a vise is really really painful. So, the odds I'm not going to try it simply to say "yep, that really really hurt", are nil.

I've had a couple colonoscopies and, if you've ever had that joy, you know the first thing is to have your colon cleaned all the way from the pyloric valve to the pooper. You might think that's fun (with or without the "most beautiful nurses you've ever seen") - I didn't find it nearly as pleasant as you.

Theres a good place for colonics in the landmark building on the 3rd floor the clinic is called G2B and they are excellent. Colonics have done alot for my health and various stomach problems. Obviously by some of these posts, not for everyone but its a question of where to find them not their personal feelings on the matter. They charge 1600 baht if i can remember correctly. Its a good place - they also do live blood analysis and related medical treatment. Its a intregated medical clinic so they are combining alternative and mainstream medicine.

good luck

There's a place called Rasayana retreat off sukhumit soi 39 and then a few turns..it has a raw (meaning veggie based things not heated) food cafe (very nice stuff). I saw that they also offer colon cleansing and there is a spa as well. The lady that started it has a place in Chiang Mai as well that people come to from all over the world...so seems like it has a good reputation. The website isn't completely done, but the contact info is there: http://www.rasayanaretreat.com/

all very true.

unless prescribed by a qualified gastro intestinal consultant as part of treatment for a diagnosed complaint , it would be prudent to avoid these "clinics" that suddenly mushroom up following the popularity of the latest health fads.

inexperienced and poorly trained staff (this IS thailand after all) can do damage , of course nobody will ever hear about mistakes because cases never come to court here.

contaminated water supply , poor sterilisation technique , incorrect (i.e.too high) water pressure can all cause damage.

if you already have but are unaware of an undiagnosed complaint (crohns , irritable bowel ,colitis , blood in the stools etc ,) then quack treatments performed by charlatans, holistics , ayurvedics , yogics and other assorted bum bandits will only make matters worse.

whats in your guts should be in your guts in 99.9% of people , and these flushes are no cure for constipation , if something is not right with your colon , then get it investigated properly , this usually means an endoscopy , which entails a cleanout anyway , but done under proper hospital conditions by properly trained professionals who can recognise any abnormalities , not some hosepipe artist working for a businessman in a completely unregulated field.
