Are you in the UK or Thailand?

I've always sent my passport to Hull using Special Delivery and enclosed a return paid Special Delivery for them to send it back to me and always got it back in a few days

I once send in on a Thursday and had my passport back on the Saturday so they turned it around in a day...great service! Can't rememebr what time of year that was but guess they weren't busy that day!

Hull are very quick.

Never had a problem. Got it back within 4 working days

Is Hull only for people who have British Passports or will they deal with any nationality?

Turn around IS 2-4 days, very good service. After asking this question of many people, my friends are so confident about this service, that they arrive in the UK on a Monday and leave a week later and expect to have the visa by then...

Can I ask if anyone has any comment on EMAIL response.

I sent an email to Hull to ask a few questions about the Non-Imm O visa based on visiting friends (ie me) and after 1 week still no reply.

I have decided to provide a letter of invitation for my friends anyway, but I had some other questions relating to the visa so I would have liked a reply...

I have sent my passport two times from Sweden to Hull, and both times it took five working days before I got it back. Excellent service at Hull. :jap:

Not only for Brits.

Thank you Lite Beer for the reply. I'm Aussie and can't make it to Perth before they close.

Not only for Brits.

But the return address for the passport must be within the EU.

My experiences with Hull have always been extremely positive, if you download their application packs they contain everything you need including pro-forma letters for B visas.

In the UK.

Sounds fine then - someone said the VISA starts from the day they stamp it so I thought I'd leave it late.. then kinda thought perhaps I'm pushing it a little.. I fly on the 12th,..... I guess it should arrive if it doesn't get lost!

Thanks for the replies.

By EMS it only takes 3 working days before you will receive your passport back from Hull.

I've emailed them a few times before and had a response back within 1 week though that was 3-4 years ago. Did have to chase sometimes though...

Yeah they do start from date issued which kind of annoys me really, can't see why they can't date from date you arrive in Thailand or day before...that's 1 reason why I use Special Delivery and try to leave as late as possible but for sure you do lose days on visa validity...

I think I "lost" best part of a month 1st time round on a 12 month visa. I did ask 1 time round for them to date it later but it still came back dated day issued:angry:

I've emailed them once, wanted to make an appointment, didn't get any response. Email was sent to enquiries@.

Maybe ataylor@ is more responsive, However it seems that enquiries@ is the only one listed on their website and in their docs.

I still turned up in person about a week later, in and out in about 15 minutes with my new visa.

Hull offers a great service.

I obtained a 1 year multi entry ‘O’ visa last month from Hull.

It cost me 100 pounds plus 8 pounds for special delivery which i paid for by cheque.

I paid 5 pounds 50 pence at the post office to send it to Hull using the same special delivery service they use for the return postage, that’s not a complaint it’s for information purposes only.

I sent the completed forms plus my passport, etc at 1pm on Monday 9th August and it was returned on Thursday 12th in the early morning post.

Yes..

i have also waited over 2 weeks without reply to my email..

I quess i should call them or maby you people in this forum can answer my questions

My Hull questions:

My old 1 year hull (based visiting friends) visa is still valid a little bit time.

However I prefer to have a new one while i am here in Europe. Is it possible you to cancel old hull visa and grant me a new one with 1 year validity?

Is c/o returnaddress to Finland o.k?

Postage to Finland still 12 £?

Agreed that Hull offers great service. I just pointed out that they might be a bit swamped on the email side, as not everyone are receiving replies.

Last time I used Hull for my visa I got a turnaround of 5 business days by mail to European country outside of GB.

thaitero, as far as I know you can not apply for a new visa while you still have a valid one in your passport.

So I guess your options are to apply for a new passport in Finland, or wait until the current visa expires.

I sent an e-mail ages ago that didn't get replied to. The best thing is to ring them - they're real helpful over the phone but I do get the feeling they are rushed.

Should be okay then - sending a passport in the post is horrible!

I did Special Delivery, both ways. They do have some form of compensation if they mess things up however I'm not sure what it covers.

O.k thanks..

My visa is valid until 7 november and i am back to Thailand 7 oct.

I think i will take that 3 month stamp with my old visa and after that maby 2 entry touristvisa from some neighbouring country..

i would have just prefered to have a 1 year visa in my passport. Much more hasslefree. But i am not going to apply new passport because of this.

Good luck getting past the recorded message!

No problems with their postal service though. Excellent.

Hull excellent turn around time. E mails not so good, snowed under I guess. Always get the visa early does not get activated until you enter thailand.

Just to clarify. was in the Uk ans the special delivery service is trackable on your pc. I applied for my last 1 year multi entry visa before the old one had expired and encountered no problems.

Birmingham are also as good as Hull and answer their phone very quickly

Post on Monday by special delivery (put another special delivery envelope in for the return)

Receive on Wednesday.

They are super quick! As I mentioned.. sent it Thurs.. just recieved it back today (Sat).

I applied to triple entry tourist visa..

Says on the stamp THREE journeys to Thailand that must be utilized by 3 March.

So when I go through customs they will give me a 60 day VISA stamp right?

Correct they will give you 60 days on arrival. This can then be extended for an additional 30 days at immigration.

Then you can do a "visa run" to a neighboring country for another 60 days, and so on.

However take a close look at your visa so you don't miss utilizing your last entry.

I would assume it says "utilized before" March 3, not "utilized by".

This would mean that you need to be back in Thailand on the 2nd of March the latest to use your last entry of the visa.

When you present yourself at Immigration in Thailand they will stamp you in for 60 days if you enter the visa information on the arrival card and they do not make a mistake. Best to always check stamp as you walk away.

You're right it says 'utilized before March 3rd', although the stamp isn't exactly clear. So really I could get my last 60 days a few days before March 3rd. That's not that bad at all!

Still seriously impressed with the consulates speed :)
