Pheu Thai's Offer Of Peace Should Be Welcomed

Featured Replies

K. Jatuporn conveniently forgets that all his and other UDD leader's speeches sowing hatred against the government, indoctrination their followers were one (and probably a major one) cause of the violence. months of indoctrination on the red stage and PTV, we will fight to our last drop of blood, etc. etc. Wonder who should take responsability of the 91 death.

The government and Royal family members paid compensation / medical expenses for those who were injured or killed. Couldn't that be seen as "taking responsibility", despite the fact that the UDD brought the injuries and deaths upon themselves from speeches like these?:

Have the UDD or Pheu Thai ever helped the injured and families of the dead? I can only remember that they stole the dead bodies from the hospitals to parade on stage as propaganda tools.

Have they admitted to being ever at fault and taken responsibility for anything?

More pre-conditions?

The movement's leaders have set themselves a specific goal—the release of opposition activists arrested in the aftermath of May's demonstrations.

Why not ?

They have a voice.

Why not? Because the confinement orders have been issued by the courts and are beyond the control of the government. It is just another of their several stipulations that are unreasonable and preclude the initiation of reconciliation talks.

It's a good article and for the first time I've seen gives an attendance figure. 4,000.

Not a small demo in the circumstances.

Thank you for posting the link.

4,000 for a free concert? When they have other free concerts in Pattaya, it draws many multiples of that number. 4,000 for a free concert in Pattaya is a puny number, especially when they have (from the link):

Cabaret dancers in black, thigh-high boots and feather boas performed on a large stage.

There's a whole thread on how the UDD/PTP have NOT helped:

Many Thai Red Shirts Abandoned By Their Leaders

A morbid but very apt reminder of what this was all about to the red shirts - attempting to discredit the current government through invoking situations causing human collateral damage, then parading it around for all to see.

If any of their followers seriously believe the leaders have their interests at heart they couldn't be more deluded.
