nearly stepped on a snake this morning when walking through nearby communal gardens but wearing very dark sunglasses i couldn't be sure of its colouring. certainly woke me up anyhow.

The ones around my house are pretty much the color of the ones in the linked photo. Beautiful snake.

I have only seen them on trees, never on ground. But then they do blend in perfectly with the foliage.

yes, i'm pretty sure this one out back earlier was a far darker green than that really. also had a thinner head. was lay in short grass in the open sunshine with it's head arched up about six inches off the ground and its tongue out, very still. can't find a photo that looks quite like it.

Looks menacing..
