Happiness Rocks The Beach In Pattaya

Featured Replies

I’m not sure how active TAT is across the world but here in Singapore they’re in overdrive - deciding to cover Singapore’s buses with slogans. The old favourite, Amazing Thailand is still there of course along with a few new ones;

‘Happiness rocks the beach in Pattaya’

‘Increase your desire for happiness’,

and my personal favourite;

‘Shared happiness is double happiness’ screaming out to commuters across the island.

Its not only Thailand involved in such branding – You only need to look to Malaysia with its ‘Malaysia, truly Asia’ slogan that’s being driving Asian residents mad for years with its commercials. Of course there are slogans that never really worked –One example I can think of is Torquay with its remarkably ambitious ‘The English Riviera’ that somehow never managed to get off the ground!

Vietnam, eager to get on the slogan band wagan have a launched a contest to seek a new tourism logo – for all the creative types out there goto

but good luck filling out the application form!

So what does everyone think of these slogans?

Should other countries not already on the band wagon hop on it?

Anyone else care to share some amusing slogans?!’

There is an interesting ambiguity here which may displease some of the more conservative members of the Thai elite. :o
