Importing Nutritional Supplements

We are currently buying nutritional supplements from a company who imports them from the USA. They have a very good price, about a 50% markup and the actual cost of the same products in the USA.I know which company in the states they are importing from, and Ive attempted to order directly from them only to be hit with a huge tax (I think about 200%)Is there a legal way to get an import license to be exempt from the hight tax, and only pay a small % to the government? One of my staff seems to think so but we are both unsure on what needs to be done.If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. Any contacts of lawyers or whoever can help set this up.Thank you in advance.
