My route is this (around 3 months from now):

Chiang Mai > Argentina > Iondon > Chiang Mai.

I dont mind what route i need to take. Just trying to work out what the most cost effective route might be.

Any thoughts on this guys?

Thanks so much.

Here is one possibility, think you need to settle dates a bit more because your in high season in 3 months and lots of cost variations. try Kayak doing multi city option.

Its known as around the world, stated as such its not bad. I have done this twice and the cost was not that bad. Business class 150,000 baht. Economy 95,000 Baht. You need to contact some travel agencies and explain your routing and see what you come up with if you go city to city your cost well be more. Good hunting.

At those rates i may do bkk > argentina return..then fly to London in six months..IF there is a cheaper return route.

Otherwise i may be best getting a return flight to london..then booking a separate return flight from london to Argentina...? :/

??

Sorry..to clarify. Anyone have an idea of the best (cheapest) return route to Argentina via Thailand/Asia?

I worked out a route BKK-EZE (Buenos Aires) via Qantas in December for about 57,000b.

Doesn't come up is searches, but a Qantas agent should be able to work it out. Via Sydney in economy.

We did a BKK-Paris_ Santiago Chile trip recently. The Paris/Santiago leg was non stop with Air France. More expensive ( slightly) than the Australia route but if you go BKK London,Argentina you could stop over in London would save an extra trip to london later. Most flights from Europe seem to go from Paris/ Spain

The SA/Europe flight is a killer! 14 hours. We stayed over one night in Paris before doing the return to BKK

How long do you plan to stay in London? If only for a few days (probably not more than 3 or 4) some airlines might offer a Stopover Package, where they will allow a short stopover in London at no more expense or only a slight extra fee as long as you book the entire flight on the same airline. For example, a friend I had did a Bangkok (3 day stopover) stopever on KLM out of Amsterdam to Australia at the same price as a normal return flight with no Bangkok stopover. Not all airlines and all routes have this, but it's worth checking on. You would pay basically the same fare as a BKK to Argentina flight, but get a stopover in Lindon, just as long as you book both legs on the same airline.

I. myself, once did a U.S. to Bangkok trip on Singapore Airlines with a 3 day stopover in Singapore at no extra cost on a Singapore stopover fare package deal with Singapoe Airlines.

After a bit of searching, it might end up working out cheaper to book a return to London, then a separate return flight from London to Argentina.

I need to make a trip to both London and Argentina...but not necessarily at the same time. If it worked out cheaper to fly a different route to Argentina, then i would make a separate visit to London in July.

No easy solution it seems...
