Hate to disagree with all this - Bombs are found? C'mon guys what a joke. They were meant to be found. Bombs are NEVER found in a city of 12M people unless they are planted and then disclosed for purpose of distraction. The only bombs meant to happen - do! As has been so sorely pointed out the BiB could not find their way to a toilet seat if they has the runs!

This is more thuggery and tactics by a mob of morons who don't have enough brains between them to bless themselves. And they expect votes?

So whilst the BiB gain some PR as 'looking' effective the Bangkokians know otherwise. And so do I. Wake up all.... rolleyes.gif

never found or seen? not even by a camera or an observer, or trash collector?! 12 million people packed into a greater urban area might notice things around them, especially being more on edge after all the recent happenings.

home made ones don't always go off. look at some of the nitwits who tried to assemble them. other times they go off before getting to the scene, like the red shirt in chiangmai who blew his leg off trying to set one up for Thaksin to raise hel_l. homemade fireworks aren't exactly fault proof.

You really think the people high in power went out of their way to stage a bomb conspiracy? this whole conspiracy stuff is getting out of hand.

isn't it amazing how normally the police could not find their own <deleted> with both hands, yet they seem to be finding unexploded bombs in places they would not normally even visit, the more sceptical amongst us can see these alleged explosives for exactly what they are, an excuse to continue with the pointless and oppressive state of emergency that is keeping other political parties down.

Amazing thailand

You are perhaps referring to the inability of the police to arrest any of the red shirt leaders back in May, such as the infamous incident with Arisman? It raised a lot of suspicions about whose side they were actually on. If the police are part of this conspiracy you speculate about to keep this "pointless" state of emergency in place why were they so useless in trying to keep the red-shirts down when they were occupying the centre of Bangkok and inciting violence (i.e. repeatedly calling for Bangkok to be burned to the ground, as is well documented in countless recordings of their actual speeches on the red shirt stage)?

If one were to look at several of the recent bombings in which the perpetrators were identified, such as Bhum Thai Party headquarters and at Big C, one could find that the Red Shirt Bomber Squad is responsible. They've acknowledged this themselves by admitting to them.

Do you have the source so I can read where they have admitted to this?

It seems when ever anything goes wrong in thailand Farangs on here quickly jump and blame red shirts. Flooding in the north, bloody red shirts, Thai baht is to high bloody red shirts. My cooffee went cold bloody red shirts. Really people red shirts are not the blame for your woes nor those of Thailand.

That is ridulous. I blame them for none of the things you mention.I do blame them for blocking central Bangkok for almost two months. I do blame their leaders for inciting violence. I do blame them for countless incidents of arson in May. I do blame them for firing a grenade at Saladaeng skytrain station. I do blame them for hypocrisy. I do blame them for trying to bring back one of the most corrupt and undemocratic leaders in recent Thai history.

Your statement is pointless. meaningless and ridiculous and contributes nothing to this discussion.

Theres that word 'terrorist' again.

Continuous bombings throughout Bangkok. Burning down huge multi million dollar buildings. Written messages on airplanes saying there are bombs on board while mid-flight.

Yeah, sure not terrorists by any definition.. rolleyes.gif

I don't believe phetaroi made statements that require proof. You did.

You could have phrased your post as a belief or speculation, but you didn't do that. You emphatically claimed that the government is behind the recent spate of bombings. It is only natural to expect you to provide evidence for such an assertion.

The burden of proof is on you. You made the claim, you provide the proof.

Where is the evidence that the Thai government is doing this? Where is the proof that it is keeping other political parties down?

Don't be foolish. You're making a serious charge. I'm making no charge at all. I don't know who is setting off the bombs...and neither do you.

i think some people are missing the plot here and reading political motive into those of us who cast a jaundiced eye at these bomb 'discoveries'.

personally, i think the govt sees the SOE in bkk is working and, as many have pointed out, is not really having a negative effect and the lives of the public. that said, they kinda need to legitimize continuing it, or eventually it starts to look like a police state and certain basic rights like the right to gather in groups larger than 5 are being compromised.

what better way to keep the peace and keep the reds from a repeat performance, but to have something like....oh...... BOMBS found here and there (schools are a nice touch for the outrage factor). presto- reds still too dangerous- SOE stays.

i have zero proof. all i'm saying is it makes sense. further, if i had to put money on it, i'd bet on my scenario being right.

Without further proof I can also imagine that the militant fraction of the red-shirts likes to provoke the government into actions which reflect negatively on them (i.e. the gov.). What better way than to plant some bombs, they don't even have to explode, just be there. This will cause the gov. to prolong the SoE and make them look bad.

As betting is against the forum rules, I only put my virtual 2 cents on this ;)

Pheu Thai MP and red-shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan said the government was behind every attempted bombing incident.

PTP/UDD Jatuporn has forgotten what the PTP/UDD lawyer Kharom told him earlier:

Residue of bomb chemical found in suspect's home

The Nation - July 10, 2010

Some explosive residues were found at the home of one of the two suspects accused of plotting last month's bomb attack on Bhum Jai Thai Party headquarters, senior crime scene investigation officials said yesterday.

An unknown quantity of the RDX chemical was found near a bathroom and the kitchen in suspect Warisriya Bunsom's home in Bangkok. Warisriya is under court custody after being arrested earlier this week, officials said.

Seksan Sritulakarn and Watchara Chalermsuksant, who conducted the test at the suspect's home, said lab results to be released on Monday would verify if the RDX substance found in Warisriya's home was the sort used in the homemade bomb that went off outside the party's headquarters.

A search at her home yesterday also turned up foot and heart-shaped clappers that were used by supporters of the pro-Thaksin Shinawatra Democratic Alliance against Dictatorship (DAAD) movement, as well as a black jacket and a pair of black pants hidden in a roll of canvas.

Kharom Pholthaklang, a DAAD supporter and lawyer for Warisriya, said he would meet DAAD leader Jatuporn Promphan to explain that she was indeed a red shirt supporter.

This is in response to Jatuporn's statement earlier yesterday denying that she had anything to do with the red shirt movement.

"The DAAD leaders may not know all the red shirts, but every red shirt protester knows and supports the DAAD leaders," Kharom added.

He still doesn't remember what his own lawyer told him AFTER the May riots. The same laywer that represented the Red Bombers:

Jatuporn condemns terror incitement

BANGKOK, 10 September 2010 (NNT) – Opposition Pheu Thai Party List MP Jatuporn Prompan has denounced those engineering the recent three bomb plantings in Bangkok and Nonthaburi.

Mr Jatuporn has condemned the people who were behind the terror incitement. He voiced his belief that these people did not want the state of emergency lifted as they stood to gain from the decree, and wanted the public to feel that the security law remained necessary.

The MP, also the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) Deputy Chairperson, has insinuated that the people in uniforms, or even the Government itself, might have a hand in the plot. He brushed aside the claims that the UDD was behind the attempts, saying it was impossible given that the UDD has been under the military’s harsh suppression since the crackdown which saw nearly a hundred killed.

Two bombs were found at the car park of The Mall Ngamwongwan Shopping Complex and the Ministry of Public Health in Nonthaburi. Another bomb was discovered in front of Santirat Watthayalai School in the capital city. The bombs were all defused in time.

Mr Jatuporn has also announced that he will seek a meeting with Political Violence Fact-Finding Panel Chairperson Prof. Dr. Kanit Na Nakorn to discuss the indictment of the UDD by the Department of Investigation.

previously unreported information:

Three Bombs Discovered In Thailand Cities

Police in Thailand say they are searching for a man seen on surveillance video after three unexploded bombs were found in Bangkok and a neighboring province.

The three bombs were the work of the same group, police said, adding they are seeking an arrest warrant for the man seen on the video, the Thai News Agency reported Thursday.

All three bombs were set to be able to detonate within a 7-day time period, police said.
