nobody answered in the old thread which I tried to revive yesterday. Thus, I would like to open a new one, hoping to attract the attention to this topic. Would be great to receive some replies on your experience and knowledge on the topic (good or bad).

sorry that I am digging up this old post but I am interested to know whether any one knows whether this lady Valaiporn is still there? I don't live here but frequently visit. I tried to call her before my last trip Bkk but was not successful.

Apart from Valaiporn and CP can anyone recommend other good ladies tailors (not the ones who mainly cater to tourists). I am desperately for looking for someone good who is not overly expensive. The best solution would be someone who makes clothes for Thai ladies.

I can recommend Pamela Thaisilk-- had clothes custom-made for me there 5 years ago-- such attention to detail and the skirts, tops, evening blazers fit so well - the price was also very reasonable compared to other places I visited. They even delivered as promised to my hotel -- very trustworthy.

We just came back from Bangkok about 2 weeks ago and I went back and ordered a couple pairs of pants. excellent workmanship and quality --

I actually never really see tourists in there even though its kind of in a touristy location-- only Thai ladies.

Hi ladies,

My wife has reviewed with interest the various postings on this subject in various threads on the Thaivisa forums and has decided, for her specific needs, to check out the following four names:

- Cotton House - Oriental Plaza

- I.F. Tailor - Surawong nr J Thompson

- Dino - by Robinsons, (Sukhumvit, presumably)

- Siam Emporium - Siam Center

She’s looking for a tailor experienced in making fitted office-type clothes for women, ie not just a good dressmaker. This includes fitted jackets and fitted shirts (for which they will need to have a good selection of proper quality cotton shirting material). At one time in the past she used a tailor in one of the Pramot/Pradit/Prachum sois near the British Club/Neilson Hays Library, who made all the female attendants’ uniforms for Thai Airways, but that business has disappeared now. The tailor needs to speak reasonable English.

Before she starts her visits to these places, does anyone have and more up-to-date or additional suggestions? My wife will in any case post the results of her visits here in this forum.
