Sheryl Posted August 3, 2012 Share Posted August 3, 2012 The recommedation is for 3 separate tests for occult blood in the stool. (i.e. three separate days). A single test is not enough. If all 3 are begative it does not 100% rule out a malignancy but greatly reduces the odds. If any of the tests are positive then colonoscopy is a must.
