Dvi To Usb Adapter 1920X1080 Resolution

It's time like these that I miss my home country! I just need this simple DVI to USB adapter:

http://plugable.com/products/uga-2k-a/

An older model is available at Phanthip, but it's maximum resolution is 1680x1050, which doesn't look great on my screen, which has an optimal resolution of 1920x1080.

Does anyone have any idea as to where else in Bangkok might sell this? Or anywhere on the Internet that will ship to Thailand?

Thanks in advance!

I think you may have the cart before the horse. If you convert DVI to USB what device would it connect to?

Opposite direction... AFAIU this is a full graphics adapter...

The DVI cable leads from the computer to the adapter and the output is via USB. It's a cool way to add multiple monitors. But the better screens require the newer adapters to manage the higher resolution. Checked a dozen stores at Panthip and they are completely clueless...

Well that is opposite to the link you provided, would help explain why those you asked had no idea.

Plugable USB 2.0 to VGA/DVI/HDMI

Sorry for the confusion. If you look at it from the other way, it is USB output to DVI adapter to monitor...

I believe I've found one at Shop4Thai.com, 1920x1080, check this out:

http://www.shop4thai.../product/28728/

I'm waiting now to find out if they have stock...

That is the one, but you pay a 100% premium to buy it here!

It's $57 on Amazon, but they won't ship outside America.

I have just received the item, tried it out and it works great !

In fact you are not paying a 100% premium; you are paying the cost of said item in Thailand. If you wish to buy one at the American price, by all means fly over and do so.

Glad it works and I think I'll avoid the flight and just have a friend send it to me. The low res version was 2500 Baht at Panthip. maybe they'll get this new one soon too...

I've just been through this set up, connecting Computer to TV & stereo, but using DVI to HDMI cable & then a HDMI splitter,(which you may or may not need) ...

If I am not mistaken HDMI cable will give you better quality? (assuming you have HDMI plug on your computer & TV...... I am sure someone will correct me is not correct on that !

An adapter was put on to the DVI plug to convert to HDMI, perhaps the same for USB adapter?

It was not that expensive here on Samui, & easy to find, but then I do have a guy who can find "anything" :D.... when it comes to these sort of things & sets it all up for me.... not being a "computer geek" that makes life very easy! ....

But I get the full resolution & full stereo sound quality.. .
