November 29, 200223 yr Popular Post Afternoon all, wondering if you can advise me. I have a letter of employment from a company in Thailand, which I shall be starting in June of 2003 and they have also been advised to submit an application to the Immigration Bureau. The 2 problems I have is as follows, 1. they need an address of where I shall be living and as yet I dont know, and will probably only be able to supply once in Thailand 2. My girlfriend will be accompanying me , what documentation will she need? also a non immigr. i take it, but if she wishes to work in thailand can she apply within thailand, as she cannot get a letter of employment as her studies are not yet done .
November 29, 200223 yr Author Popular Post Don't submit through Immigration, it's too complicated. Instead, apply for a Non-Immigrant "B" at nearest Thai Embassy/ consulate with the letter as evidence. Your girlfriend should apply at the same time for a Spouse visa, Non-Immigrant "O", with a copy of the letter that you have. The best time to apply is approx 2 weeks before you move to Thailand. Contact them in advance and double check that they will take your application.
November 29, 200223 yr Popular Post George thanks youre quick on the button :-) 1.Is a spouse visa different to that of a normal Non Immigrant visa? I cant find it on the site. The only other advice i need is on the address of where I shall be living , do I HAVE to have an address of where Ill be staying before I can submit my letter of employment? If I do whats the best method? If not what do I state as where Ill be living/staying?
November 29, 200223 yr Author Popular Post The spouse visa IS a Non-Immigrant Visa. The business visa is called NON-B, and your girlfriend shall have NON-O. Both Non-Immigrant visas, but different classification. (The "O" visa is not for work, but the "B" is!) The address you supply on the visa application form is the "proposed address in Thailand".... So no problems to use that address, everything can change later on.... ::
