What Time Is The Vientiane / Nong Khai Border Open?

I got my "car passport" book and plan to drive to Laos at the Vientiane / Nong Khai border crossing next week, and wonder what times the border is open. Also, how long should I plan on to cross in a personal vehicle - considering all the forms that need to be filled out at & Lao visa to be applied for?

Hi Ywamer,

The border open at 6am and close at 10pm

To cross with private car, dealing with immigration (as usual) and custom document (one one) you will not spend much more time than to cross with public bus and waiting for all passagers to get into bus again.

Depending of time you cross, the queue could be long on Thai side. !
