Thong Pha Phum National Park And Pilok

Featured Replies

Hello

We're are planning a trip to Thailand in December (16-30th)

We travelling by car and I read that the road to Pilok must be a very nice road.

In Loney Planets guide I read something about sleeping in tree houses in Thong Pha Phum National Park

Does anyone has experiences with that and does anyone know where I can find some information about these tree houses

Has anyone experienced a nice guesthouse in Pilok ore Thong Pha Phum National Park where we can sleep with two kids 14 and 12 years old

Hi huismannetjes user_popup.png

Have you been there before? Going to Pilok Village (30 kms approx) from Thong Pha Phum you are on the mountian side of the road, coming back, well you are on the other side, 200 - 700 foot or more drop.

Good Luck as your are driving.

Do not go is my advise if you are driving. :wai:

The tree houses belong to DNP (Dept of National Parks). You can book them through the DNP siite. Check availability b4 u go because they were closed for quite a while last year. Take your own food! By mid December the road should be open and repaired again. Its not advisable to go in the rains as the road washes out and trees fall regulary . Also you cant see anything most of the rainy season as its wrapped in clouds. A lot. lots of leeches also.

There are 4 waterfalls up there, Chokradin 1 and 2 you can walk to. Namtok Jet Mit and the other one are by 4WD only and not accessible at all in the rains. I made Jet Mit but incurred damages on both 4WD, the other one I have never attempted.
