I do not want to make the 5 hour trip into Bangkok from PKK

there's a shop called "amorn" which sells various electrical accessories. the shops are usually quite large and the ones i've been to stock many different types of remotes. check to see if there is one in your area. i kinda doubt they are authentic remotes, but hey, as long as it looks and feels the same and works, who cares...

You can buy a replacement in most large electrical stores and even in some markets. Makro,Tesco Big C etc all stock them.Most of the replacements you buy you can use for your DVD,TV and HI-FI and they are quite cheap
