Non Immigrant Ed Visa

Featured Replies

I need some information about non immigrant ED Visa.

I got Non Immigrant ED Visa (single entry) from date 16 July 2010 to 15 Oct 2010.

I came thailand on date 31 july 2010. On Arrical Immigration officer at airport granted stamp ADMITTED Till 28 Oct 2010.

Now question is, its means i could stay in thailand till 28 oct or i need to leave thailand before 15 Oct???

Thanks.

You can stay in Thailand till 28 Oct. You had to ENTER Thailand before the 15th.

Thanks.

.

I am Studying in Language institute and now i will apply for my extenions. BUT WHEN MY FIRST 90 DAY WILL COMPLETE or when I mUST need to REPOT.

Because my Visa validity 16 July 2010 to 15 oct 2010???

I enter Thailand 31 July 2010 and at airport Immigration Granted me stay till 28 oct 2010.

WHEN my 90 Day will complete 15 oct or 28 oct???

This information i Read from Thai Immigration URL.

  1. The notification must be made within 7 days before or after the period of 90 days expires.
  2. The first application for extension of stay by the foreigner is equivalent to the notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days.

Thanks.

If you will be leaving on or before October 28 you will not have been in Thailand 90 days, it looks like a total of 88 days from July 31 till October 28 , so 90 day address reporting should not be necessary.

As said you never have to do 90 day address reports unless you stay longer than 90 days. An ED visa as you had does not allow more than 90 days. Only if you get an extension of stay from Immigration to stay longer and do not leave Thailand will 90 day address reporting become required. And that would be 90 days after extension of stay application or after return from outside the country.

Thanks All.

next week i am going to apply for my 3 Months Extension.

For example;

My school said they will provie me 3 letters and you will use three letters for every 3 months extension one by one. Lets say If i get my first three month extension from date 29 oct 2010 to 28 january 2011. So when my 90 report become valid?

1) Visa Validity 16 july 2010 to 15 oct 2010

2) Enter Thailand 31 july 2010

3) Period of Stay from immigration officer at airport ADMITTED Till 28 oct, 2010

4) For Example ( If i Get ist Three Month Extension from date 29 Oct 2010 to 28 january 2011)

90 days from the day you apply for the extension of stay. You have a window of 7 days so you should be able to present both the TM.7 for extension of stay and the TM.47 for address report at your next extension of stay visit.

what documents require for Ed visa extension??

The school/course should be able to help you with that. They have to give you papers, confirming you are following their course and attend for at least 4 hours a week.

I read somewhere................

That Language school students could not apply for 365 days Extension at one time. They will apply ist for 90 days extension. Then for 2nd extension and so on.

BUT

University students like MBA can apply for 365 Days extension Ist time.

IS IT TRUE???

Generally true but depends more on school than what is being studied.

i am just styding thai language.

You do not need any special visa to study. To obtain extensions of stay for study you would need an ED visa and school would have to be accredited for study and provide proof of that and study to immigration and you would have to fill out TM.7 form and pay 1,900 baht.
