I wouldn't know about Chiang Mai never having been, but for the rest of the poll, one word - <deleted>.

Could be :o .... but then the world is getting such a small place the likes of Bert and Doris are your captive long haul tourists that no doubt would appreciate the wonderfull opportunity to visit C.M.and tone up on their ideas and impressions of the mystic orient.

You wouldnt/dont expect them to stay at some old rancid B&B seaside hovel (with smells of stale beer and 3 day old fish and chips) in some forgotten English

coastal resort last visited in tit summer of 1953 ..(nae more Blackpool for us Luv)...would you?

No..No way.. Our Bert and Doris are gonna spend the kids inherittance dosh and the least they would expect is a week at say...the ......Dar Devi.........Sounds nice luv let try it...he-he. :D

MY THAI : Luxury resort in Chiang Mai

Mandarin Oriental, the luxury hotel chain, has opened a new resort in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and to celebrate offers villas for as little as $295 a night. Our April issue has a thorough rundown of the new resort, the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, and describes it as "simply one of the most ambitious resorts Asia has ever seen...a teakwood fantasia."

It’s a hotel where you're not only a revered guest but where you're also exposed, in the most gentle and pleasant manner, to the culture, crafts, and history of a region.

Read the article

Chiang Mai Pleasure Palace and see what an amazing value $295 actually is.

Even a meal in their restaurant is only about $30 each which in real money would hardly pay for a night at the Bingo for our 2 NEW World adventurers.... :D
