News_Editor Posted October 7, 2010 Share Posted October 7, 2010 U.S. drone strike kills four militants in northwest Pakistan 2010-10-07 20:50:10 GMT+7 (ICT) ISLAMABAD (BNO NEWS) -- A U.S. drone strike killed four militants in the Pakistani tribal region of North Waziristan on Thursday, officials said. "A U.S. drone fired two missiles on a militant compound in Miranshah," a security official told local media, killing four militants and injuring two others. The drone attack targeted a compound and a vehicle parked nearby. The attack came the same day when a Pakistani official said that U.S. drone strikes were not justified, because "they are counter-productive and also a violation of [Pakistan's] sovereignty." Foreign ministry spokesman Abdul Basit also said the pilotless attacks are "not serving the strategic interests, especially in the context of our efforts to win hearts and minds."
