October 10, 201015 yr Indonesian government to resume labor export to Malaysia 2010-10-10 20:31:40 GMT+7 (ICT) JAKARTA (BNO NEWS) -- The Indonesian government will soon continue exporting labor to Malaysia after a suspension in June over allegations that workers were treated badly there, officials said on Sunday. Indonesia's National Agency for the Protection and Placement of Migrant Workers said the government will soon end the ban after Malaysia promised to improve the protection and welfare of Indonesian migrant workers. The ban was imposed on June 25 by the Manpower Ministry after a series of reports that Indonesian maids were being abused in Malaysia, which is frequented by Indonesian migrant workers. "Hopefully in the near future the talks on migrant workers' protection and welfare will be completed and we can start sending our labor force to Malaysia," Jumhur Hidayat, the head of the National Agency for Protection and Placement of Migrant Workers, told the Antara news agency. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2010-10-10
