Hello

I am buying a sat nav today. Is there any type of brand I should go for? Also I am guessing the maps and 'voice' will come in Thai language? How to convert to English? Are the maps accurate for Thailand?

Many thanks for you help

I got mine at MBK and bought a GARMIN, you can select Thai or English for functions voice etc.

Never had any problems with it and it works just fine,.paid 7,000 baht

The guy set it it all up in front of me and tested it etc before i left which was good.

I have a garmin navi with the lastest Thai maps i think it is version 10, I also have a tomtom IQ, the maps on the tomtom are more detailed. tomtom bought in uk and Thai maps added, all instructions on both are in English, the tomtom voice can be changed to most languages inc Thai

Why have multiple devices. I use my Nokia E52 mobile phone which has GPS receiver built in. It uses OVI maps which are free to download and you can select any language you desire for voice directions.

I rented a Kamaz gps and found the interface non-intuitive and annoying. Garmin is much better. Next trip I'll buy the Thai maps for my Garmin.
