I would be grateful for some advice. My girlfriend and I have a house in Hua Hin, we are going to Bangkok for a couple of nights next month, staying at the Conran.

I have something special to ask her and we are thinking of going on a dinner cruise on the river, can anyone advise me which is the best craft?

I've taken the dinner cruise from the Shangri-La hotel, and don't think you necessarily have to be a guest there. Great gormet buffet, very nice large boat, indoor or outdoor seating, but fairly expensive (around 1500 per person, excluding drinks, as I recall). Leaves the pier at the Shang at 5 and returns about 7.

They also offer a day trip to Auythaya. Bus up there about 8 AM, see the ruins and royal palace, followed by a 4 hour trip down the river in the afternoon on the same boat with the same great buffet.
