July 29, 200521 yr My girlfriend has applied for a tourist visa to come to the UK, her interview is in August. Nothing taken for granted but I think she will be successful. I would like to take her to France while she is in the UK but would need a Shengen visa. My question is that it seems sensible to book the French holiday when she has the UK visa. Therefore I would book this in Thailand with a UK hoilday company, would email confirmation of these arrangememts be sufficient to apply for a Shengen visa at the French Embassy in Bangkok. Any advice appreciated Cheers

July 30, 200521 yr I tired to apply for one for my wife to visit Italy. We applied at the Italian Consulate in Los Angeles as that is where we were living at the time. The things they wanted us to provide to them was beyond ridiculous and some of it was actually impossible. I said <deleted> it! I thought the whole process was complete BS. I'll wait until she becomes a US Citizen.
July 31, 200521 yr I'm Swedish and my GF and I went to a couple of diiferent countries whitin EU. I guess UK does not apply to Schengen still which makes it a bit more complicated as you need a point of entry in to the Schengen states. If she holds a valid UK visa (point of entry) I don't see a problem for any Schengen country to not issue a visitors visa if travelling documents are in order.. Tricky as UK are not a memeber of Schengen, but I believe it shouldn't be a problem TripxCore
July 31, 200521 yr I would suggest first get the UK visa. Once that is done it should be very easy to get a single entry tourist 30 days visa from France. The travel booking papers should be enough. They are strict on the bank balance statement and on the medical insirance coverage. Good luck
July 31, 200521 yr the wife and I wanted to visit Euro-Disneylast month after collecting my son in the UK for which we applied for a visa at the French embassy in Bahrain. Never again...we even had a 1 year UK visa already issued...waste of time. However the OP might have an easier go of it applying to the French embassy in Thailand...in Bahrain there was an arab component to the application process that made things more complicated than they had to be.
