Dial Up Isp Busy Signal

Featured Replies

I normally use DSL at home but I am visiting my soon to be in laws up in Phayao and am using TT&T dial up.

Normally, when you make a phone call, I think you get charged 3 baht.

Sometimes, when I dial my ISP here at my future mother in laws house I get busy signals that last for hours.

My computer is set up to redial the number if I get a busy signal. I usually let it dial the max number of times, 99, when I get the busy signal.

Does TT&T, or any phone service here in Thailand, charge you when you attempt a call and get a busy signal?

If you get a busy (line not available) signal you will not be charged.

If you can hear the modem dialling then you will be charged 3 baht.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say if I can hear the modem dialing. To get a busy signal, dosen't the modem have to dial the number?

I believe he means if you hear the modems talking rather than dialing. If the call gets to the other modem and it can not give you a line for whatever reason you will be charged for the phone call.

Sorry my reply was not clearly written.

If you don't get a dial tone you will not be charged

If the ISP modem does not answer you will not be charged

If the ISP modem answers but does not connect you will be charged.

Auto re-dial is not advisable in LOS.

You may find this hard to believe but one ISP that I used had an answering machine that said the service was down.

Now thats really intelligent.
