Oh they will attempt to claim otherwise, parry off ridicule, rationalise their behaviour away, even perhaps convince themselves they aren't really being pathetic and pitiful when they get a buzz from what should register as self-nausea. Their delight at discovering they they wield power, after all. No doubt those who are more likely to find joy in such a peculiar expression are those who have lived tragically powerless, grumbling in subordination to (wife / partner / boss / teacher / colleague / public-at-large).

Isn't it absolutely disgusting how low ( literally ) some people ( not just Thai's but i've never known a race so utterly at the mercy of money & do ANYTHING for it ) behave towards it ??
