Cheapest Way For Renewing Visa

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm a student here and my girlfriend has been here for almost 90 days and her visa is getting ready to expire. She has paid the 30 day 1900 baht fee and is getting ready to leave the country.

I was wondering what is the cheapest way of re entry, I know she has to fly back into thailand, what travel agency or specific flight should she take that would be cheapest, around the beginning of november?

She wouldn't be renewing a visa, but she could ge a visa exempt entry of 30 days by returning by air and 15 days by returning by land. Border runs by bus cost about 2,200-2,500 Baht. Air Asia usually has inexpensive flights within the region.

how would she be able to get another 60 days"?

Go to a Thai Consulate in another country and get a Tourist Visa. They are free at the moment.

Apply for another Tourist Visa at a Consulate. The Consulate at Vientiane, Laos issues double entry Tourist Visas on a regular basis.

Okay thank you so much beechguy, one more question. She currently modeling right now, under thai law is it possible for her to change her visa to a non-immigrant visa to stay for a year, if consent is written by a thai citizen that she is living with that thai citizen and supporting that thai citizen?

No, generally speaking a foreign person would need to be employed by a company, and most consulates in the region would want to see a work permit, or evidence that a work permit has been applied for, as well as numerous company documents. Within the region that would also only get a visa for 90 days.

To work legally in Thailand, she needs a work permit.

A double entry Tourist Visa would allow a stay of 60 days each entr,y and each entry can be extended 30 days for 1900 Baht.
