October 27, 201015 yr I recently bought a bicycle and I've been peddling around Chiang Mai. The best map I have is called Chiang Mai Thailand by Map Finder. While this is a good map, I want one that has a bit more of the area surrounding CM, especially the roads in the vicinity of the mountains where the biking is good. Anyone know where I can get one like that?

Consider the GT Rider maps, the Mae Sa Valley/Samoeng loop map of ours has been used more for cycling than motorcycling. Where are MHS and Golden triangle maps are great for motorcycling, the mountain roads are describe in little detail which my help in route selection.

October 27, 201015 yr I always made my own using Google Earh as a source. Then I wrote on the GPS co-ordinates. It's kind of fun just riding around on a motorcycle with a GPS and doing your own plotting for later.
October 28, 201015 yr GT Rider maps are available from Tony's big bikes in town. If you speak with Pikey, one of the owners, he has riden many of the roads around the north and could possibly offer more acurate information on road conditions than you would get on the map.

October 28, 201015 yr There's some routes here http://www.mountainb...com/scenic.html and a local group whose email address is "[email protected]" who might be able to help. There is also a new 2010 "Big Map" of Chiang Mai and the surrounding area with some bike and walking trails shown on it. There website is findercm.com but I bought my copy at Gecko's bookshop.
