Hello,

we plan to spend few days in Chiang Dao and would like to undertake walking in the Chiang Dao National park.

Can we walk in the park independently or do we need a guide?

How can we get from Chiang Mai to Chiang dao - bus or minivans, how often do they run?

Is there any kind of schedule for the bus/ minivans?

thank you

Do not the price but can not be that much, bus for Chiang Dao is caught at the Chang Phueak Bus Terminal. That is on gthe north side of the moat. just off Chotana Road.

It is just off Chang Puek rd. Price is less than 100 baht.

Chiang Dao is only 1 hour north of Chiang Mai,

You don't need a guide unless you are helpless

Enjoy the Chiang Dao cave, for sure

I'm pretty sure the bus will only take you to the center of town on Hiway 108 (107?). From there you'll have to get a songthiew to the cave and where all the guest houses are, several kms away.

There's plenty of walking to do in the area, but if you want to climb to the summit of Chiang Dao, I highly recommend a guide and probably a porter too.
