LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) -- Actor Charlie Sheen on Monday file for divorce from his wife Brooke Mueller after many issues including a scandalous escapade in a New York hotel last week, TMZ reported.

Sheen, 45, intends to end his third marriage. His latest short-lived matrimony was marred with many incidents including one conviction for domestic assault and his controversial episode in a New York hotel last Tuesday.

The star of the "Two and a Half Men" cited irreconcilable differences as the motive for his divorce request. Back in May, the couple signed a 43-page property settlement document. Mueller, a real estate investor, has two 19-month-old twin sons with the actor.

In such document, Mueller and Sheen divided all their assets and agreed on the joint legal custody of their two sons. Mueller will get primary physical custody and the acclaimed actor will get visitation.

In addition, Mueller will receive $55,000 per month for child support and a parting sum of $757,689. However, the documents states that the child support for Mueller cannot be higher than the child support sum Sheen pays to former wife and Hollywood actress Denisse Richards.

In August, Sheen pleaded guilty to assaulting Mueller and was ordered to 30 days in drug and alcohol rehabilitation and three months of probation.

Last week, the actor was found drunk and naked in a room in the NY Plaza Hotel. A porn actress claimed to be in the room with the actor as he went on a rampage and trashed the room.
