Retirement Visa Renewal

Featured Replies

I am about to renew my retirement visa, after being in Thailand for a year. Can someone tell me how many copies of TM7/TM8 I need to complete. I read somewhere that I only rerquire one copy (plus one photo) for a renewal extension, but a certain Thai immigration lawyer now tells me that the procedure is no different to a first-time application (i.e. 3 copies needed). I am confused.

It is determined on where you apply. In Bangkok one copy only. Other places will require 2 or 3 and should always be the same.

I've only ever done one copy, in both Sakeo and (this year) Chachengsao.

Ditto Mae Sot, always only one copy.

Knew I should have said "may" rather than will. Perhaps the new regional set up of offices removes the requirement for forwarding a copy to Bangkok - which used to be required.

Equally Chiang Mai, one copy only.

Maptaput as well (I did prepare 3 copies on the "better be safe than sorry" principle when I did my first renewal in July, but only 1 was needed in the event).
