Mysterious missile launch seen off Los Angeles coast

2010-11-09 21:18:14 GMT+7 (ICT)

LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) -- A missile launch was seen on Monday afternoon over California's southwestern Pacific coast, but government officials have remained silent over the incident, local media reported Tuesday.

A KCBS-TV news helicopter in Los Angeles captured the large missile at around 5 p.m. local time. According to the crew, the location of the missile was about 35 miles into the sea, west of Los Angeles and north of Catalina Island.

While a Navy spokesperson said no activity was reported during that time, California's Vandenberg Air Force Base said no launches had been conducted since Friday's Delta II rocket, which carried an Italian satellite into orbit.

The Pentagon and the U.S. Navy told NBC that they were "checking" the report but did not know who had launched the missile.

Some sub commander is doing the "Oh gosh darn it" :shock1:. I would guess they won't admit to a launch drill gone bad until they find the warhead that was a top the the missile that went up. In the mean time the sub's commander is checking the employment ads. No inactive posts in the US Navy.:whistling:

Must be the Bin Laden gang or Iran A-Bomb test.

Was thinking the very same thing.... so better invade Iran soonest, it's time to deliver some good old USA style "freedom and democracy"to that backward and hostile country that invades and occupies other countries all over the world....
