My question is this: What police checks are needed for a Thai working visa?

My situation is this:

I worked as a teacher in Thailand for 3 years and have now returned to England. To work in England i have to get a Thai and Uk CRB police check because i have spent 3 years in Thailand with sporadic visits back to england. Do i need two police checks if i return to thailand?

I understand the importance of CRB checks but they are a huge hassle and if i have to get two of them this is double trouble.

All stories and advice would be appreciated,

I have never needed a police check for a visa or for a work permit.

Obtaining a Royal Thai Police Special Branch report is very painless and quite easy. You will not need to obtain a Thai one anyway, not for visa purposes.The Brit CRB check is all that is (sometimes) required.

However..........it may be a Thai schools decision if they want you to have the Thai police check.

The problem with the Royal Thai branch special report is that it requires 3 sets of fingerprints. If i was in thailand this would probably cost a few hundred baht but because i am in England looking for a job here it is over 120 pounds. If anyone knows a cheaper/better way of getting thai police clearance let me know.
