Wifi And Internet Not Connectin

Featured Replies

I have been at my friends place and he says he cannot get on to the internet.

He uses a wireless modem and has 3 laptops.

He normally uses IE8 but also has either Firefox or Google Chrome on each laptop.

All 3 laptops have wireless connectivity but no internet connection.

I used my spare laptop and got straight on to the wireless link and straight into the internet using Firefox.

My laptop was right next to his.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem can be?

same virus in all three.... ? I assume it used to work before?? if not... maybe he doesn't have the WPA2 (wifi encryption ) driver if it is Winxp older versions? Does it work if he use cable?

Is he using DHCP? Are the laptops picking up the correct DNS server addresses?

I will chase both replies tonight when I go over there.

Unfortunately he is in Holland and 6 hours behind us and it is his missus who is having the problem.

I thought that she had tried the direct lan connection but perhaps not.
