sabaijai
Many members have posted to this forum asking about places to learn or practice Buddhist meditation in Thailand. To make it easier to find this info quickly, here's a link to "A Guide to Buddhist Monasteries and Meditation Centres in Thailand": http://www.kammatthana.com/a_guide_to_budd...onasteries_.htm Sponsored by the World Fellowship of Buddhists, the booklet was originally written by an American Buddhist monk living in Thailand (Phra Sunno, aka Jack Kornfield) and has been updated twice by layperson Bill Weir. The last update happened in the late 80s so some of the information is quite out of date. Nevertheless many of the monasteries and centres listed here remain still more or less as described. Here also is a link to Buddhanet's updated list of places to practice in Thailand: Buddhanet Thailand Directory Places are also listed at DhammaWeb.org: DhammaWeb Thailand's own World Fellowship of Buddhists: WFB Dhamma Study Group Around since the 1970s, probably the oldest dhamma discussion group in Bangkok. The group meets every Saturday between 2 and 4pm in Thonburi, and is attended by foreigners as well as Thais. They don't practice formal meditation and the main focus of the discussions is the Abhidhamma Pitaka. Mae Chee Anna
Rombodhidharma International Temple is located in a small district called Nong Hin, in the northeastern Thai province of Loei. The master at the temple is the Venerable Luang Por Phosri-Suriya Khemarato who gives dharma reflections on the original truth of all nature: non-attachment as it is. sabaijai
On 8/8/2005 at 5:00 PM, sabaijai said: Many members have posted to this forum asking about places to learn or practice Buddhist meditation in Thailand.
