Featured Replies

Hi everybody, i will be flying from the UK to chiang mai. via Bkk where do i get my 30 day visa ? can i get it at immigration in chiang mai ? or do i have to go through immigration in Bkk and come back into the airport ? also with it being a busy time the way my flights worked out i will have a 4 day overstay what can i do agout this ? i will be arriving in Thailand on Dec 09 2010

Get a tourist visa at a Thai Consulate in the UK, they are free at the moment.

Without return ticket within 30 days or a visa you can be denied to board the plane.

You need a Visa or you will have problems boarding the flight.

Tourist Visas are free at the moment.

You get your visa exempt 30 day entry stamp at the port of entry, usually Bangkok airport. You then take a connecting domestic flight to Chiang Mai. A 7 day extension of stay can be obtained from immigration in Thailand for 1900 baht, you would need to show your return ticket to them.

If you have a though ticket on Thai believe immigration may be in Chiang Mai if they have not changed procedures at new airport; but if other flight you would have to clear immigration/customs and then check-in for flight in Bangkok. Check with your airline.
