We were informed by the office at Sriracha to bring two witnesses when O apply for my one year extension. I have never seen anything in all the information here about it and the officer just wrote it on the 'what you need' information form. Is this a new thing, as I am a first timer to the process I want to get it right.

The requirement is that the police confirm your marriage and it appears that specific office will use the witness to do that rather than making the normal visit to your home.

My first ever marriage extension in Samui a few years ago we had to take a Thai friend along.

He was asked a few questions and signed a statement.

Update: We went to the office with the next door neighbour and his wife. The officer interviewed him and then when the wife started the officer said "no cannot use husband & wife" So we came home and took another neighbour in. She said they asked questions about her family and then asked if I was good man/husband, do they fight lalala. We asked the husband who had the interview what they asked - same thing, but as he knows us better when asked if I yell at my wife treat her bad he replied " no just the opposite" ah life with a wife for 25 years...... got the one month stamp & it all went off to BKK for approval. Will advise in January if I was successful.
