I am nearing the end of my double entry 60 day tourist visa. What documentation will I need when I go to Vientiane next month to get a 90 day Non-O visa after which I will convert to a 1 year retirement extension? I asked in the local immigration office but they were very vague in answering what is required.

Thanks Lopburi. Yes, I am over 50... by copies do you mean copies of my photo page and current tourist visa page with stamps? Will a copy of my current bank account statement meet the requirement to show 20K?

Yes, but take the original bank book with you also. When providing copies, they might want to see the original.

If asked you must produce cash. Not common to be asked most places for first world travelers. It has been decade or more but believe only data page of passport copy required.
